Ride Support By Florida Riders and Rick Case Honda Powerhouse Ride Coordinators: Greg Rice, Joe Green & Eric Sprague The Florida Riders and Rick Case Honda Powerhouse is assisting riders to attempt a Iron Butt Association ( IBA ) SS1000 ride on April 2, 2016 starting in Weston, FL and ending back in Weston, FL at the same location as the start. The ride is the Iron Butt Associations 1000+ miles in less than 24 hours. This ride will be a loop around Florida with stops in Jacksonville, Midway and Naples totaling 1034 miles. Riders will start the ride in a one hour window on April 2, 2016 starting at 5:00 AM. The ride will start as scheduled rain or shine as IBA riders are the toughest in the world. To be successful you will need to ride to each of the 3 waypoint locations in Florida in the order they are listed below and obtain a receipt for gas or something you bought at the location. You must complete the ride in 24 hours or less. The ride will start and finish the same location ( Chevron, 2620 Weston Rd, Weston, FL 33331 ), there will be an IBA witness available to sign riders out for the start and when riders return for the finish. The start and finish location is a large 24 hour Chevron gas station in Weston, FL with a convenience store for coffee and snacks. If you have a GPS that accepts routes and waypoints you can click on this link to download a GPX file that you can load into your GPS. http://www.gregrice.com/flss1000/FloridaSS1000.gpx When you complete the ride you will provide the IBA witness your 5 receipts ( start, stop one, stop two, stop three and finish ) and the ride coordinators will submitt your ride documentation to the IBA for verification. The ride certification process and certificate, pin, license plate backer and pin fee is $50 which will need to be submitted along with the ride documentation. A check made out to the Iron Butt Association is the best way to pay the fee. If you want you can also pay with PayPal to the Iron Butt Association.
